Hate crime in Orlando

In the actions that occurred in the early hours of 6/12/2016 we saw what can happen when hateful ideology meets reality. 50 people lost their lives because one young man followed the teachings of hateful ideology. A young man that pledged his allegiance to ISIS (http://www.wcsh6.com/news/nation/orlando-nightclub-shooter-called-911-to-pledge-allegiance-to-isis-sources/240811616) prior to entering Pulse, a Gay Nightclub, and struck terror in the lives of others due to their orientation. Even though we may not be able to be in Orlando, as a nation we must show our support for the families of those affected by this tragic event. This also means support for the family of Omar S. Mateen.

In order to solve the problem of violence due to firearms, We must use Rational and Commonsense approaches instead of Emotional Sensationalism. This is not a time to allow people to take away the rights of others, due to the actions of a person that had hatred toward LGBT people.

The tragedy that occurred in Orlando, Florida is nothing more than adherence to an ideology of terror and hate. This is not a criticism of Islam or Political Ideologies in particular, rather it is a criticism of those that approve of its followers, through the use of violence, of denying others their rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Intolerance of tolerant people

For many years, there has been an agenda to silence those who do not agree with others. It started heavily in the late ’90s and has become a platform of those with little to no skills for intellectual debate.  Along with this is the agenda of fair treatment, while some who do not deserve it are up held on a pedestal. I and others grew up in the Era of Everybody-Gets-A-Trophy. Thankfully, my parents did not raise me to meet this “standard”. Before the insipid insults are hurled, my childhood was not perfect; yet I am grateful that I had some commonsense thinking instilled.

Just this past week on 5/24/2016, there was a Conservative event hosted by Milo Yiannopoulis. (https://youtu.be/Pw-MnRyIoQY?t=30m30s) For a quick synopsis, Milo is a gay conservative that is against extreme Feminism and other issues. He was invited by a Student Republican Organization at DePaul University in Chicago for a conservative event. The event was interrupted by ignorant/arrogant protestors that wanted no open exchange of ideas. Furthermore, they proceeded to call a young lady of the same race a white supremacist bigot. She was called this for expressing that hard work and determination will advance people. The organizers had paid for security, which was not provided. The event was eventually disbanded.

While I may not agree with everything the guest speaker puts forward, I do defend his First Amendment right to say it. What I do not defend is the violent, vitriolic venom spewed by those that oppose bullying and hate speech, while in the next breath/action do exactly what they are against.

Most, if not all, of the young people being taught in supposed tolerant Universities are experiencing censure such as this. One of the problems is that many are unaware of the intolerant ideals fostered in so-called arenas of higher education. Yes, you can express yourself if; you are gay and leftist, straight and keep your head down, male and subjugated, female and do not expose lies of extreme feminism.

Universities that espouse tolerance of intolerant behavior should be examined very closely, especially those receiving public funding. With the advances made in Civil Rights for all, there are some that would rather be living in the Orwellian Dystopia described in “1984”. We as a nation are headed for the Double-Speak and are already in Double-Think.

Verum Libertatum

What is Liberty? According to Oxford Dictionary, “The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views.”

Liberal and Conservative are fancy parlor words tossed around by unintellectual children in an attempt to impress the adults around them. Most of those using these words have no idea of the real meaning. According to Oxford Dictionary, the definitions for enlightening the grown children that might be reading.

LiberalWilling to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one’s own; open to new ideas

Conservative Averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values

Please stop saying that you are a Liberal Democrat, knowing full well that you are not.

Wonder if there are other fancy words? Ah,yes. Progressive, Socialist. My personal favourites, Nazi and Fascism. The last two are linked together.

Progressive- Favouring change or innovation

Socialist- Person favouring the philosophy of Socialism.

Socialism- A political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole (substitute government for the last four words).

Nazi- A member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. Also, A person who seeks to impose their views on others in a very autocratic or inflexible way.

Fascism- An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

One may wonder why this is titled Verum Libertatum. The reason being that in a free society the language itself is able to be dissected and scrutinized. In a free society, one has the ability to speak on any topic no matter how offensive it might be. The problem in our modern society is Political Correctness. The mere phrase is offensive when it is dissected and scrutinized.

Political- Relating to the government or public affairs of a country

Correctness- The quality or state of being free from error, Conformity to accepted social standards

Conformity- Similarity in form or type; agreement in character

Political Correctness- The avoidance of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.

When looking at it with a rational mind, Political Correctness is nothing more than social control to ensure that everyone fits the same agenda. Yet, if you think otherwise you will be marginalized and ostracized from the group. Now that is the definition of discrimination in itself.

Discrimination- The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people

At the apex

I can see for miles, past all the trials.

The goal is in sight, down below I face a fight.

Never told it would be arduous, so far it has been adventurous.

Wishing I would fly over the parts making me cry.

This journey has been tiresome, always more heartache to come.

Trudge through a field of pain, told experience is what I will gain.

In the field I can not see what lies beyond.

In my mind remains the horizon.

Others gather at my side, in unison we stride.

For riches or glory, they listen to my story.

Bright sunlit crystal castles lining hills of purple majesty.

Losing some along the way, on this path we stay.

Though this journey has been arduous, so far it has been adventurous.

Down below was a fight, goal is in sight. Trials are all past, for miles I can see.

At the apex.

Might one be gay and masculine?

To begin with, I have known that I am gay since I was younger than 18. I had to hide it from religious leaders and my family. When I came out, I was told that it is a phase, you are just eccentric or some other excuse to not accept the truth. “Omg, so familiar with this cliché,” you say.

Here is the difference, I did not conform to social programming that gay equals effeminate. I still like working on cars, fixing things around the house and other “masculine” things.

In these times it is familiar to see gay men  in the media as the archetype of gay men everywhere. However, in reality these are nothing more than stereotypes forced upon the young. It is more acceptable for a gay man to have a soft voice, outrageous hand movements and a crass attitude. It is not acceptable for a gay man to have a hard voice, subtle hand movements and a polite attitude.

A scenario: Two men, one masculine and one effeminate, walk into a gay bar. They are both drinking and talking to guys. The effeminate guy is insulted, then assaulted. He fights back and the assaulter is removed from the bar. The masculine guy is insulted, then assaulted. He fights back and he is removed from the bar.

To some the scenario may seem ridiculous. It does happen but you will not know about it. It is not reported in the media, that would show the discrimination still existing in the gay community.

As for myself, I would rather be masculine than be forced by social stereotypes to conform to something that is not me.

If this has helped anyone, please post a comment. If you disagree with my opinions, please post a comment. The only way to understand is to have an open expression of ideas and opinions.
